Shelter Plus Care
The Shelter Plus Care program provides rental assistance for chronically homeless individuals with disabilities. The Auburn Housing Authority maintains 5 Shelter Plus Care Vouchers.
Eligible clients include chronically homeless individuals who have been continuously homeless for at least one year or have been on the streets and in an emergency shelter at least four times in the last three years. In order to qualify for and remain a part of the Shelter Plus Care program, clients must be disabled and receiving case management services from the Cayuga County Mental Health Department.
